Best In Show: Top 2015 High-Performance Motorcycles

When it comes to high-performance motorcycles, 2015 has been a very exciting year. If you are in the market for a new high-performance bike, one that is well made, fast, reliable, and safe (including to extract broken keys from doors or ignition easily), any one of the recommendations below would be worth consideration.

Kawasaki H2 and H2R

For high-performance motorcycles, Kawasaki has produced some of the most technologically advanced. For instance, the Ninja H2 and H2R have completely changed the game. Both of these bikes offer state-of-the-art engineering. The Ninja H2 is supercharged with an all-new 998cc in-line four-cylinder engine designed to handle high air pressure. This bike also has a new MotoGP Dog-ring style transmission for achieving short shifts and boasts a Brembo hydraulic clutch for overall smooth performance.

BMW S1000RR

This is another one of the top high-performance motorcycles on the market today. From the S1000RR released in 2009, this year’s bike has been completely overhauled. This motorcycle is lighter in weight but also faster with a 999cc liquid cooled in-line, four-cylinder engine. The exhaust system is also new, as are the cylinder heads, crankcase, and duct geometry. Due to an extreme bore stock ratio of 80x49.7mm, the bike offers incredible stability at high speeds.

Aprilia RSV4RR

If you are looking for a high-performance bike with sexy aesthetics, this is it. This Italian-made motorcycle has a new engine capable of producing more than 200 horsepower. The lightweight bike has a 999cc V4 engine, redesigned air box, new air ducts and fuel injectors, and it can produce a maximum torque of 84.81 pound-feet at 10,500 RPM.

Yamaha YZF-R1

For Yamaha, the YZF-R1 is its flagship super sport bike. Technically speaking and from a design perspective, this bike is highly innovative. The motorcycle has an all-new 998cc four-cylinder engine that produces 200 horsepower. The ports boast larger valves, which put out an impressive 13:0:1 compression ratio. Compared to the previous crankshaft, the new one has 20% less inertial moment for better throttle response. To reduce engine friction, this bike has forged aluminum pistons and low tension piston rings.

Ducati 1299 Panigale S

You might also consider this high-performance motorcycle, which now has more horsepower than the smaller version, the 1199. This super bike has a 1285cc Superquadro L-Twin, four valves per cylinder, and a liquid-cooled engine, which is unprecedented. At 10,500 RPM, the bike produces 205 horsepower. Included in the sleek design is a top-of-the-line braking system, rebound damping adjustment with semi-active mode, and fully adjustable Ohlins TTX36 unit with electronic compression.
